Graduate Student Rep: North America

To follow up on an item mentioned in the presidents’ welcome message, the IGA is looking for one more graduate student representative, ideally from North America.  This is an exciting opportunity to become a spokesperson for a thriving graduate student network, within the rich and welcoming culture of the international Gothic Studies community.

This is a two-year position, focused on supporting and building the IGA grad student community. Regular responsibilities include recruiting bloggers and managing the IGA grad blog, and keeping the Facebook page and Twitter feed active and engaged. There is scope for developing other plans for growing the network, such as conference events for grad students. The new rep will be joining Louise Benson James (Louise.BensonJames@bristol.ac.uk), who has been an IGA postgrad rep for one year and has another year to go.

To apply, email a short statement about why you want to be a rep and what you would do with the position to Jason Haslam (Jason.Haslam@dal.ca) and Justin Edwards (justin.edwards@stir.ac.uk) by 15 September 2017. Candidates must have at least 2 years left to run on their PhDs, and must be members of the IGA. The position will commence in September 2017.
