The Gothic Community

The International Gothic Association (IGA) unites teachers, scholars, and students from around the world that are interested in exploring the rich and lively mode of the Gothic in its various aesthetic forms. Our website unites critical collaboration, encouraging a platform for open discussion amongst our members. The IGA helps exchange contemporary ideas upon and research into the Gothic as widely and effectively as possible.

The Postgraduate Community:

IGA Postgrads

In line with the objective of the IGA, the postgraduate/graduate community of IGA, known as IGA Postgrads, is a friendly hive of like-minded scholars, graduates, independent researchers and early career academics. Chosen by the IGA presidents and committee members, IGA Postgrad representatives are responsible for the management of the Postgraduate blog (igapostgrads.blogspot.co.uk), IGA social media accounts, and postgraduate related issues in the IGA Biennial conferences. Email us at igapostgrads@gmail.com and introduce yourself to the postgraduate world of IGA! Or alternatively you can find IGAPostgrads on Facebook and Twitter.

The Gothic Imagination

The Gothic Imagination (gothic.stir.ac.uk) is based at the University of Stirling, Scotland and provides an interdisciplinary forum for lively discussion and critical debate concerning all manifestations of the Gothic mode. We aim to provide an interdisciplinary forum for lively discussion and critical debate concerning all manifestations of the Gothic mode, be it historical or as manifested in more modern and contemporary cultural events. We also seek to establish an internet-based community of Gothic scholars and enthusiasts, and to serve as a platform for the dissemination of information relevant to our mutual Gothic interests. In addition to news about the various Gothic programmes and events at Stirling, the site provides information about exciting new developments in Gothic studies. Please direct all queries to Dr Timothy Jones on timothy.jones@stir.ac.uk.
