The IGA is looking for two new graduate student representatives! This is an exciting opportunity to become a spokesperson for a thriving postgraduate network, within the rich and welcoming culture of the international Gothic Studies community. We are ideally looking for one representative from North America, and one representative from Europe (excluding the UK/Ireland) to join our current UK/Ireland representative.
The IGA graduate student representative is a two-year position, focused on supporting and building the IGA postgrad community. Regular responsibilities include recruiting bloggers and managing the IGA postgrad blog, and keeping the Facebook page and Twitter feed active and engaged. There is scope for developing other plans for growing the network, such as conference events for postgrads. The new rep will be joining Dana Alex, who has been IGA postgrad rep for one year and has another year in the position.
To apply, email a short statement about why you want to be a rep and what you would do with the position to the IGA co-presidents Justin Edwards (firstname.lastname@example.org) and Karen Macfarlane (Karen.MacFarlane@msvu.ca) by October 15 2019. Candidates must have at least 2 years left to run on their PhDs, and must be members of the IGA. The position will commence on November 1 2019.
