IGA Conference Subvention

Application form for conference assistance

As part of its new outreach initiatives, the International Gothic Association (IGA) will offer small grants of up to £200 each year to subsidise the organisation of conferences which promote the study of Gothic. Two deadlines are established for applications for small conference subventions: one for May 1 (for conferences that take place during the following July 1 to Dec 30) and one for November 1 (for conferences during the following Jan 1 to June 30). Each competition will provide up to two subventions. In order to be eligible, any applicants should be current members of the association, and should provide a clear rationale as to how they intend to use the subvention. All of our monies come from our members’ fees, so it is important that we use this money wisely. In line with other organisations, we will not sponsor wine receptions, but monies applied for can, for example, be set against a postgraduate travel bursary, or a small reduction in postgraduate registration fees for the conference.

You can find a link to the form here. Please provide your name, conference title and dates, and a clear rationale for how you intend to use the money that you are applying for. Please send all completed forms to the current IGA co-presidents, Justin Edwards (Justin.edwards@stir.ac.uk) and Karen Macfarlene (karen.macfarlane@msvu.ca). We will aim to get back to you with a response within four working weeks.
