Death & the Sacred Conference

Death and the Sacred is the theme for a one day symposium to be held March 22nd 2019 at Manchester Metropolitan University.

After generous funding from Manchester Metropolitan University and the IGA, we are pleased to announce subsidised rates for PG/ECRS and members of the IGA. Ticket price includes all the events for the day,  coffee, refreshments, lunch and wine reception.

Death and The Sacred Symposium is to host award-winning Gothic authors: Andrew Michael Hurley, Jenn Ashworth, Catherine Fox and Rosie Garland, who will be discussing themes of sacred place, horror and haunting in their novels. It includes a keynote on themes of death and the sacred in contemporary apocalypse narrative from the University of Liverpool’s Dr Simon Marsden, author of The Theological Turn in Contemporary Gothic Fictions: Holy Ghosts (2018).
